Serie A in an official announcement has confirmed that the African Men's Player of the Year 2023, Victor Osimhen has set a new record for African footballers in its league.

The report which was shared by Serie A confirmed that Victor Osimhen has remained the highest African goalscorer in the league since 2020. With 58 goals no other African player has scored more goals than Osimhen in the league in the last 4 years.

This is a huge achievement for the Napoli Forward who just can't stop scoring. With the Nigerian international linked with a possible move out of Italy in June 2024, it remains to be seen as to if Osimhen will hold this record for a long time.

Napoli has their eyes set on getting back to their title defence run in the Serie A but the recent update about Victor Osimhen who was removed early in the fixture against Caligari has left much doubt as to the next direction of the club and if he would be available for upcoming games. The Nigerian international limped off in Napoli's last game.

There has been no official confirmation as to his match fitness level but many have their fingers crossed as to a possible return before the second leg of the UEFA Champions league round of 16 fixture against Barcelona.
