Super Eagles forward player Victor Osimhen has spoken for the first time about why he decided to join the Turkish club, Galatasaray, on a season loan deal.
The Nigerian international was speaking in an interview after he was unveiled by the Turkish giants, Galatasaray. Victor Osimhen made a shocking move to Turkey after his transfer to both Chelsea and Al Ahli collapsed on the deadline transfer day on Friday, August 30, 2024.
Speaking to the club’s official website about the move, Osimhen said:
“When I heard of the interest from Galatasaray, it was a very easy decision for me. I knew how big Galatasaray was and how much like a family it was, and it had incredible fans. Henry (Onyekuru) is my friend and he played for Galatasaray before and is still a fan. He told me how wonderful the people here are, so it was an easy decision for me."
Galatasaray completed the move for the Nigerian, they are expected to cover Osimhen's wages during the period of the loan move. It was also included in the contract that his buy-out clause had been reduced to €75 million which could be triggered by any club in January 2025.
