Super Eagles forward player, Victor Osimhen has reportedly put an end to one of the most anticipated news by football stakeholders around the world by agreeing on a deal with Saudi Arabia club side, Al-Ahli.
Sky Sports News confirmed the deal on its live broadcast show in the early hours of Friday, August 30, 2024, which is also the final day of the 2024 summer transfer window. According to reports, Victor Osimhen agreed on a four-year deal with Al-Ahli with Napoli expected to receive a sum of £80 million plus add-ons inclusive.
Recall that the transfer saga started when Antonio Conte confirmed to the forward player and the board at Napoli that he does not want to work with Victor Osimhen but rather with Romelu Lukaku who he has worked with in the past while at Inter Milan. There were a few clubs interested in signing the Nigerian but the wage structure was a major stumbling block for any team that showed interest.
Chelsea Football Club were also in the mix for a long time down to the end but there were reports that the Blues were offering a loan deal with an obligation to buy which did not sit well with Osimhen and his representatives.
The 26-year-old is expected to travel to Saudi Arabia in the next coming days to complete his move before the end of their transfer window which ends on Monday, September 2, 2024.
