He became the youngest tennis player to reach the final of any Grand Slam final since Rafael Nadal achieved that feat at the 2005 French Open. The 19-year-old achieved this feat by beating Francis Tiafoe of the United States of America, in a thrilling five-set match which lasted for over four hours, 6-7, 6-3,6-1,7-6,6-3.

Alcaraz will face Norway's Casper Ruud in the final of the US Open on Sunday, September 11th, 2022. Both tennis players have never won a grand slam title in their careers, and the winner of the match will automatically be the new World Number 1 tennis player.
