Chelsea Football Club have withdrawn their appeal submitted to the English FA to have the game against Middlesbrough played behind closed doors.

The Blues had earlier in the day asked that the FA quarter-final game be played without fans in the stadium using sporting integrity as the excuse. However, Boro replied the Chelsea in a statement released on their website stating that it was awful that the Champions League winner made such a proposition.
The English FA, however, released a statement confirming that Chelsea have decided to withdraw their appeal which means that game will be played with Boro fans in the stadium.
After a cconstruction talk between the FA and Chelsea, the club has agreed to remove their request for the Emirates FA Cup quater-final tie against Middlesbrough to be played behind closed doors. The FA remains in ongoing discussions with Chelsea, the Premier League and the government to find a way that will enable both Chelsea fans and away fans to attend Stamford Bridge, whilst ensuring sanctions are restricted.
Chelsea are currently under strict restrictions from the UK government after deciding to freeze the assets of Roman Abramovich.
