#UEFAawards: UEFA Announces Final Shortlist for Men's Player of the Year Award

The body governing football in Europe, UEFA, have released the shortlist for the Player and Coach of the year award.

UEFA made the announcement on its official Twitter account on Friday, August 22th, 2022. The nominees for the award was dominated by the winners of the Champions League last season ( Real Madrid ).

Real Madrid's forward player, Karim Benzema and its number goal shot-stopper, Thiabaut Courtois were nominated for the award alongside Manchester City's maestro, Kevin De Bruyne. Benzema looks like the favourite player to win the award following his amazing form for the Galacticos last season.

UEFA also announced the nominees for the coach of the year award. The final shortlist has Real Madrid's manager, Carlo Ancelotti, Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp and Manchester City's Pep Guardiola.

The winners of the award will be announced on Thursday, August 25th, 2022, the same day the UEFA Champions League draw for the 2022/23 football season.
