Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has reportedly agreed to be the new head coach of the Three Lions of England as the FA looks to find a replacement for Gareth Southgate.

The German international has been out of the job since he left Bayern Munich at the end of last season (2023/24). Thomas Tuchel will be the third foreigner who will be appointed as the head coach of England since Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello.

Tuchel has been tipped to be one of the best options for England as he has managed a number of Europe’s top clubs, also including Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain, but his greatest success came during his time in English football at Chelsea.

Tuchel led the Blues to Champions League glory just months after taking charge in 2021 and also won the UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup with the London club.

He was sacked in September 2022 by Chelsea’s new owners after it was reported that he failed to find a middle ground with the board of directors.
