Villareal midfielder Thomas Partey now faces two fresh charges of rape from a new victim, according to new reports.
Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been hit with two additional rape charges connected to a new alleged victim.
The development comes after the 32-year-old had already entered not guilty pleas to five counts of rape involving two women and one count of sexual assault, said to concern another complainant. With the latest allegations, Partey is now accused of offences involving four women.
The new counts are linked to incidents said to have taken place in 2020 and were reported to authorities in August last year. They follow a fresh inquiry by the Metropolitan Police. Partey is due before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 13 March, 2026, for an initial hearing regarding the latest charges.
In September, the Ghana international was granted conditional bail at Southwark Crown Court after denying the earlier accusations.
Those original charges, brought last year, relate to alleged incidents between 2021 and 2022, during his time with Arsenal. He was formally charged shortly after his contract with the north London side expired at the end of June.
Police began investigating the matter in February 2022 after first receiving a rape complaint. A trial before a High Court judge has been listed for 2 November.
Since leaving the Premier League, Partey has continued his career in Spain, joining Villarreal on a one-year agreement in the summer, a move confirmed after the charges had already been filed.
Partey moved to Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in October 2020 in a deal worth £45.3 million and went on to make 130 Premier League appearances under Mikel Arteta.
His solicitor, Jenny Wiltshire, has previously stated that the player rejects all allegations and is looking forward to the chance to clear his name in court.
