Arsenal's legend Thierry Henry has highlighted one of the reasons he felt his team lost to Bayern Munich in the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League.
Arsenal lost the game 3-2 on aggregate over two legs, the first leg ended 2-2 at the Emirates Stadium while the Bavarians won the second 1-0 to win the tie over two legs. Joshua Kimmich popped up with a sweet header in the 63rd minute to set up a Champions League semi-final showdown with Real Madrid.
Henry was speaking after the game on his show with CBS Sports where he criticized Tomiyasu for the defeat against Bayern.
He said,
You could see that both teams didn’t want to lose the game, they were both not really going for it. It was a moment of bad defending for me, not only from Martinelli but I would put Tomiyasu also in that, not covering his centre-back and closing that line.”
