The Super Eagles of Nigeria have landed in Ivory Coast at the Félix-Houphouët-Boigny International Airport via a chartered flight on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, for the 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations.
The three-time AFCON winners arrived in Abidjan in their green and white native which looked beautiful on the players and the official. The Super Eagles departed from Muritala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Wednesday morning and arrived in Abidjan before 2pm local time.
Nigeria has been tagged as one of the favourites to win the 2023 AFCON, but recent results of the national team have not given the fans confidence that the team are good enough to win the tournament. They will be looking to win the tournament for the fourth time, a feat that was achieved in 2013 beating Burkina Faso in the finals.
The Super Eagles have been drawn into Group A alongside the host nation, Ivory Coast, Guinea Bissau and Equatorial Guinea. The former African giants will play their opening game against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday, January 14, 2024.
