Barcelona continued to overwhelm their opponents, and in the 34th minute Roony Bardghji added a third, his low shot slipping under Unai Simón and over the line. The first-half rout was completed four minutes later when Raphinha drove in from the left and fired a powerful strike into the near-post top corner to make it 4–0 at the break.
The tempo dropped slightly in the second half, but Barcelona remained clinical. Raphinha grabbed his second goal of the night in the 52nd minute, reacting fastest after a scramble in the box to turn in the rebound and cap a commanding display.
Athletic Club came closest to a consolation when Sancet struck the post, but they were largely outplayed as Barcelona dominated possession and pressed relentlessly throughout the contest.
Barcelona will now await the winner of the second semi-final between Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid, with the final scheduled for Sunday, January 11. Raphinha, who was named Man of the Match, praised the team’s intensity afterward, stating that when Barcelona defend together and maintain their tempo, they are extremely difficult to stop.
