Former World Number One female tennis player, Serena Willams has confirmed that she will be competing at this year's Wimbledon Grand Slam.

The American was speaking on her Insta Story via her official Instagram account on Thursday, April 7th, 2022. Serena was speaking with NFL star, Aaron Rodgers at a Bitcoin conference in Maimi.

When Rodgers asked her about the US Open, she replied saying it Wimbledon before the US Open.

Serena withdrew from the first round of Wimbledon last year in her game against Aliaksandra Sasnovich. She did not take part at the just concluded Olympic Games in Tokyo and the US Open in 2021 due to a hamstring injury, as well as the Australian Open earlier this year.

The 40-year-old has been in search of her 24th grand slam title since winning her last Grand Slam in 2017 at the Australian Open. She has since reached four grand slam finals but has failed to win a single set in those finals. She is currently ranked 246th in the world.
