For the second time in two months, Sadio Mane and Senegal have defeated Mohamed Salah-led Egypt 3-1 on penalties to secure a spot in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Senegal took the second leg of the world cup qualifier fixture into extra time after scoring an early goal to bring the scoreline levelled for a full 90 minutes and into extra time.

Mohamed Salah and Kalidou Koulibaly both missed penalties for their respective sides as the penalty shootout commenced with the heroics from the FIFA men's goalkeeper of the year, Edouard Mendy handed Senegal a lifeline which was later converted by Sadio Mane.
