Former Liverpool player, Roberto Firmino, has been ordained as a Pastor in his local church in his hometown of Maceio, Brazil.

The 32-year-old and his wife Larissa posted pictures from the inauguration service in a joint post on their official Instagram account. The couple described it as a memorable occasion.

They said,

"From our encounter with Christ, a longing burns in our hearts: that people may know this love that has reached us. Now we have another yearning and responsibility: to be pastors after God's own heart and who cooperate with the yearning."

Pastor Roberto Firmino was baptized in the swimming pool at the house of his former teammate Alisson in 2020. He played for the Reds for eight years and during his time at the club, the Brazilian won the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the EFL Cup.

Firmino joined the Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli and has since made 34 appearances and scored nine goals. He often shares religious messages on his page and snapshots of him preaching.
