Chelsea's number-one shot-stopper, Robert Sanchez was named the winner of the save of the month award for September 2023.
Robert Sanchez won his first Castrol Save of the Month award after taking the September 2023 prize for his fantastic stop to deny Aston Villa's Nicolo Zaniolo.
He is the second Spanish goalkeeper to win the award for Chelsea, after Kepa Arrizabalaga claimed the prize in October 2022 - also for a save against Aston Villa, which went on to be named the Castrol Save of the Season.
Sanchez beat Allison, David Raya, Ederson, Jordan Pickford, and Guglielmo Vicario to win the award.
He broke into the first team at Chelsea following the loan move of Kepa to Real Madrid during the 2023 summer transfer window. Sanchez has started every game this season across all competitions.
