Reece James in his latest post-match press conference has opened up on the Chelsea vs Bournemouth draw in the Premier League.

Reece James did not hide his frustration following Chelsea’s 2-2 draw against Bournemouth, believing the result was unfair considering the number of opportunities his team had to secure a win. James himself delivered a dramatic injury-time equalizer with a stunning free-kick, salvaging a point for the Blues.

However, the Chelsea captain was clear in his disappointment, feeling that their inability to capitalize on clear-cut chances ultimately cost them the victory.

The match was packed with excitement. Cole Palmer put Chelsea ahead, but Bournemouth responded with a penalty from Justin Kluivert and a superb strike by Antoine Semenyo to take the lead. Just when it seemed all hope was lost, James stepped up to level the score in spectacular fashion, offering Chelsea fans a moment of relief.

Despite earning a point, the result leaves Chelsea in fourth place, still in contention for a Champions League spot. Bournemouth, currently seventh, can take pride in their spirited performance despite the missed opportunity to claim all three points.

Speaking to TNT Sports, James reflected on the mixed emotions after the game, “There are positives to take—coming from behind to earn a point—but it’s disappointing not to convert our chances. It’s a mix of feelings.”

When asked if he thought a draw was a fair outcome, he admitted, “Honestly, no. We had several clear-cut chances in the first half that we should have taken to put the game beyond reach. In football, failing to take your chances can come back to bite you—that’s a universal truth.”
