Real Madrid supporters have received bad news concerning one of its first-team players ahead of the 2023/24 season.
The club's number-one choice goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois left the training session on Thursday, August 10, 2023, after sustaining a potential ACL injury. According to reports from those present at the scene, the player was in tears as he was leaving the training ground.
The Belgian International will undergo an MRI as soon as the swelling reduces which will determine the extent of the injury. However, it looks like Real Madrid will be without their star goalkeeper for the first few months of the season.
Second-choice goalkeeper Andriy Lunin will likely replace Courtois in the starting lineup, although Real Madrid might have to sign another shot-stopper before the end of the 2023 summer transfer window.
