The 2022 Australian Open Champion took to his official Twitter account to confirm that he will be out of action for at least six to eight weeks. According to him, he played through during the game with a lot of pain but he decided not to quit because he is the defending Champion.
This injury means that Nadal is a doubt for the Indian Wells and Miami. However, he should be available for the clay season, and most importantly the French Open.
The biggest blow for Nadal is that he could be out of the top ten for the first time in 19 years if he does not play tennis for two months.
