Pepe broke the 32-year-old record at the FIFA World Cup which was set by Cameroon's forward player, Roger Milla. He is the oldest player to score a goal at the FIFA World Cup.

The Porto player achieved this feat at the age of 39 years, 283 days old. The Portuguese supporters will hope he can continue in his form as they look to win their first-ever World Cup.

It was also a good day for Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes, he has been directly involved in five goals in three games (two goals and three assists); the most by a Portuguese player in a single edition of the tournament since 1966 (10 Eusébio & 6 José Torres).
