The past week has been tough for Chelsea's midfielder, Enzo Fernandez, following Argentina's victory in the 2024 Copa America.
Enzo Fernandez and his Argentine teammates sparked outrage after a video surfaced showing them singing racial songs targeting the French national team players. This behavior led to strong criticism from football fans worldwide and caused tension with Fernandez's French teammates at Chelsea.
Adding to his troubles, Fernandez was recently found guilty of failing to provide information to the police regarding a red light violation involving a Porsche, according to BBC News. The 23-year-old was charged with driving a Porsche Cayenne through a red light and driving without insurance.
Although there was no plea entered for these charges and they were withdrawn, Fernandez is set to be sentenced in September 2024, in Llanelli.
Fernandez has since apologised to everyone involved concerning the video which was uploaded on Instagram live via his official account on Monday, July 17, 2024. Chelsea have also condemned the act the players in the video, they also acknowledged the apology that the Argentine issued after the video has been circulated on the Internet.
