The supporters of Manchester City are used to some of their top players leaving the club every summer transfer window and the club also singing new players who are seeking to add winning medals to their cabinet.
This is probably due to having won everything at the club and seeking new challenges or the inability to get enough playing time. The 2024 summer transfer window will most likely see some big names leave the Etihad before the start of the 2024/25 season.
Here are some of the players that could leave Manchester City:
- Kalvin Phillips:
The England international is one of the few players who have not had a chance to break into Manchester City's first team since their arrival at the club. He joined City from Leeds United two seasons ago but has failed to find his feet at the Premier League Champions despite having more trophies to his name. He went on loan last season to West Ham United but still failed to get minutes under his belt with the Hammers under David Moyes.
- Jack Grealish:
The former Aston Villa player has also failed to live up to the expectations that Manchester City fans would have hoped for after joining them for a whopping £100 million, the most that a player would cost City in recent years. However, injuries have been a big part of Grealish's problems as he was not fit for selection for most of last season. He made only ten Premier League starts of 20 appearances in the division, scoring just three goals and one assist. The 29-year-old could most likely leave the Etihad to find a new challenge somewhere else before the start of the 2024/25 season.
- Julian Alvarez:
The Argentine international who is one of the most decorated players at Manchester City in terms of trophies could also be leaving the club this summer. Julian Alvarez has played second fiddle to the club's top scorer, Erling Haaland, since he joined the Cityzens. Pep Guardiola has always tried to give minutes to Alvarez, which most times comes when Haaland is injured, but the forward player is not satisfied with that as he is seeking a club where he can get more game time.
Hot stories
- Kevin De Bruyne:
The Belgian is the shocking name on the list as he has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, which most Manchester City supporters don't understand why he wants to make such a move. However, Kevin De Bruyne has not hidden his desire to leave the Etihad this summer but has said he would leave only for the right price and the best offer. The midfielder had won everything that needs to be won at the club level, so maybe a move to Saudi Arabia will not be bad as he looks to earn more money.
- Ederson:
Manchester City's number-one goalkeeper has also been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium. Just like De Bruyne, it is rumored that the Brazilian just wants to make a mega move that will give him more money before he finally decides to hang up his gloves. Ederson has also won everything that needs to be won as a player when it comes to club football, so a move to Saudi Arabia only means more money for Manchester City and the player.
