Reports have now confirmed that two players are set to make a shocking and unexpected permanent transfer away from Chelsea this summer.
In an effort to stay competitive in the summer transfer market, clubs are not only focused on signing new players but also on offloading or loaning out those who may no longer fit into their plans for the upcoming season. Chelsea is one such club actively making these transfer adjustments and reports indicate that 2 of the team's players will be looking to make a move out of the club this summer.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that both Armando Broja and David Datro Fofana are expected to leave Chelsea on permanent transfers. Notably, Broja was left out of the squad for their recent match, signalling an imminent move.
Armando Broja has been with Chelsea since his early years, having come up through the academy. He displayed glimpses of his potential during a loan spell at Southampton in the 2022–2023 season. However, with fierce competition for forward positions at Chelsea, his chances have been limited. His absence from Chelsea's friendly against Real Madrid, despite being fully fit, suggests the club is eager to finalize his departure soon. Several clubs are reportedly interested in the Albanian international, with Chelsea aiming to complete the deal by next week.
David Datro Fofana, an Ivorian forward, joined Chelsea from Molde FK in January 2023 as part of the club's strategy to invest in young talent. However, his time at Chelsea has been brief, with limited appearances. Like Broja, Fofana has struggled to secure a regular starting spot, especially with the arrival of new forwards. Chelsea has decided that a move away would be beneficial for both Fofana and the club.
