The news was confirmed on the athletic website on Wednesday, January 26th, 2022. According to reports from the website, Arsenal's head coach asked the former Gunners' captain to stay back in London and train alone.
The 32-year-old forward player had not played for Arsenal since December 2021 because of disciplinary behaviour. He has also stopped off his captain's armband some weeks later.
Aubameyang was sent home by his country Gabon at the ongoing African Cup of Nations because of a heart condition he suffered after testing positive for COVID-19. He was later deemed okay and fit by the doctors at the Arsenal.
