Erling Haaland wins 2023 PFA players' player of the year award

Manchester City's forward player, Erling Haaland has been named the winner of the Professional Footballers' Association award for the year 2023.

Erling Haaland was voted the winner of the award by his fellow professionals in England. He bagged the award in his first season in the Premier League.

The Norwegian striker was a key part of Manchester City's treble winning season at the end of the 2022/23 football season. The Cityzens won the English Premier League, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club's history.

His fellow teammates, Kevin De Bruyne and John Stones were also part of the six-man shortlist, along with former Tottenham player, Harry Kane and Arsenal duo of Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka.

The 22-year-old scored 36 goals in the Premier League, 12 goals in the Champions League, three goals in the FA Cup and one goal in the Carabao Cup. The PFA members vote for the winners of each award, choosing the players they feel have put in the best performances all year.
