OFFICIAL: Karim Benzema Leaves Real Madrid as a Free Agent

Real Madrid Football Club have confirmed the exit of one of its best players, Karim Benzema will leave as a free agent after fourteen years.

The exit of Benzema was confirmed on the official website of Real Madrid on Sunday, June 4th, 2023. The French man will leave at the end of this season as a free agent when his current contract expires.

The 35-year-old has been linked with a move to a club in the Saui Atabia pro league where he might be joining his former teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo. The forward player is the fifth player with the highest number of appearances (647) for Real Madrid. He is the second all-time goalscorer for Real Madrid with 353 goals.

Benzema holds Real Madrid's second all-time goalscorer in both the League and the European Cup. He is also the fourth goalscorer in the Champions League in the history of this competition and the fourth goalscorer in the history of the League.

Benzema joined Real Madrid in 2009 and has been a key part of the club's success in recent seasons, he won 25 titles in his fourteen seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu in which he won 5 European Cups, 5 Club World Cups, 4 European Super Cups, 4 Leagues, 3 Copas del Rey and 4 Spanish Super Cups.
