Brentford have confirmed the signing of Christian Eriksen on the last day of the transfer window until the end of the season.
The news was confirmed on Brentford's official website on Sunday, January 30th, 2022. According to the statement, the former Denmark captain will join the club on loan until the end of the current football season.
Brentford has an option to extend the deal at the end of the season for another year. Eriksen was forced to leave Inter Milan following his heart condition did not pass him fit to play for the Serie A club.
The player suffered a cardiac arrest in the opening group game of the Euro 2020 against Finland and has not played any competitive game since that time. Brentford's manager, Thomas Frank expressed his delight concerning the signing of Eriksen.
