Nicolas Jackson is closing in on a permanent move from Chelsea to Aston Villa after the two Premier League clubs reached an agreement over a deal that could be worth up to £65 million.
There are reports that Villa have agreed to meet Chelsea’s valuation of the Senegalese striker, with the transfer now at an advanced stage. The deal is understood to include an initial fee of around £47.5 million, with a further £17.5 million potentially payable through add-ons.
The 25-year-old is expected to become a key part of Unai Emery’s attacking plans at Villa Park. Jackson already knows Emery well, having worked with the Spanish manager during his time at Villarreal. That previous relationship is believed to have helped Villa convince the striker to choose the move.
Jackson to Replace Ollie Watkins
The transfer comes as Aston Villa prepare for Ollie Watkins’ departure to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal. Aston Villa have agreed a deal for Watkins, reportedly worth around £50 million, creating the need for a new attacking option.
Jackson could therefore walk straight into a prominent role in Emery’s attack as Villa look to maintain their competitiveness domestically and in Europe. Chelsea have been looking to sell Jackson permanently this summer after he spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Bayern Munich.
The Bundesliga club had an obligation to buy worth £56.25 million under certain appearance conditions, but those requirements were not met, meaning Jackson returned to Chelsea. The Blues have now found a potential permanent solution with Aston Villa.
Atlético Madrid had also shown interest in the striker, but Villa’s financial package appears to have given them the advantage in the race for his signature.
