N’Golo Kanté is reportedly on the verge of joining Fenerbahçe, with the Turkish giants making strong progress in their pursuit of the French midfielder.
The former Chelsea player who currently plays for Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad, is believed to be keen on a return to European football. Transfer news expert, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Fenerbahçe have moved quickly to position themselves as frontrunners for his signature.
Talks between Kanté’s representatives and Fenerbahçe are understood to be advancing, with discussions centred on personal terms and the structure of a potential deal. Kanté is seen as a huge signing who can add experience, discipline and leadership to their midfield as they push for domestic success and a deeper run in European competitions.
From Kanté’s perspective, a move back to Europe could prove timely. Regular football at a competitive level may enhance his chances of remaining in the France national team picture ahead of upcoming international tournaments.
Despite interest from other clubs, Fenerbahçe’s ambition and project are said to have impressed the midfielder. However no official confirmation has been made, optimism is growing among Fenerbahçe supporters that an agreement could be finalised soon
