Another new managerial hire in the Premier League ahead of the 2024/2025 Premier League season has been announced in an official statement.
In an official announcement, West Ham United have confirmed the appointment of head coach Julen Lopetegui as successor to David Moyes making him the second official managerial hire ahead of the 2024/2025 Premier League season.
It has been confirmed that the former Wolves, Real Madrid and Spain coach Lopetegui will officially join the club on July 1, 2024.
Speaking on taking on the position and new role, Julen stated, “I feel very happy, first of all, to be able to be part of the future of this big club. I feel that we have a fantastic platform. I think the last few years have been very good years to have this base, of course, but my ambition as a coach is always to be better and better, to achieve more and bigger aims and to encourage and improve the players, the team, and to compete because football is about this – to compete. We are very ambitious about this."
He also spoke about the ambition of the club and which direction he would be looking to take in the new season. He revealed, "I am where I want to be. I am here because I want to be here and for us it was a fantastic day when we closed our agreement here because our commitment is 100 per cent to be here. We had other opportunities but I am very happy that West Ham chose me because I chose West Ham too, so we are really happy about this. We came here with the idea and the thought to make a big, big noise. That's why we came here, and we are excited by this challenge. Of course, we are going to do our best to help the club and the team to achieve the best level and to achieve our aims. I assure the fans that they are going to be key in all our achievements.”

What is next for West Ham next season?
Although the Hammers did not do as poorly as many had made it to seem in the 2023/2024 club football season across all competitions, Lopetegui would be looking to replicate David Moyes's form of qualifying for European football and if possible compete for a domestic title, (either the FA Cup or Carabao Cup).
Julen did not have the best of times as the manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers with reports indicating that the Spanish coach had wanted more signings to be made to further improve the squad's quality and depth. He would be looking to make a statement in the Premier League once again with this approach.
