Brighton and Chelsea Football Club have been on a cat and rat race since the Blues showed interest in signing Moises Caicedo.

The Blues have seen three of their bids rejected by the Seagulls since the 2023 summer transfer window officially opened. Chelsea's latest bid for the Ecuadorian international of £80 million was rejected, Brighton has been adamant that the player will leave only for £100 million.

However, the decision to leave out Moises Caiccedo from the team's final pre-season game against Rayo Vallecano has seen reactions from the football world, most especially the supporters of both clubs. Sky Sports News confirmed that the he was given a break from the game so he can focus on their opening game against Luton Town.

The 21-year-old signed a contract extension with Brighton in January 2023 which will see him stay at the club until 2027 with an option to extend with an extra year. However, the good news is that the player is willing to join Chelsea.

There is a level of optimism at the Amnex Stadium that Caicedo will remain at the club at the end of the transfer window.
