Mohamed Salah wrote his name into the history book of the UEFA Champions League setting a new record by becoming the highest-scoring African player in the history of the competition.

The Egyptian King, as he is popularly called, achieved this feat on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, when Liverpool played Bologna at Anfield. Mohamed Salah scored a goal against the Serie A side to take his goals in the competition to 45 goals in 81 games, overtaking Drogba's 44 goals in 92 games
