Liverpool's midfielder, Mohamed Salah has shared his disappointment in the Red's qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.

Liverpool's hope of a top-four finish suffered a heart break when Manchester United thrashed Chelsea 4-1 at Old Trafford on Thursday, May 25th, 2023. The Reds needed maximum points in the final game against Southampton and hope that the Red Devils lose their last two games against Chelsea and Fulham.

Salah sent an apology to Liverpool fans on his official Twitter account just a few minutes after the game.

I’m totally devastated. There’s absolutely no excuse for this. We had everything we needed to make it to next year’s Champions League and we failed. We are Liverpool and qualifying to the competition is the bare minimum. I am sorry but it’s too soon for an uplifting or optimistic post. We let you and ourselves down.

Manchester City, Arsenal, Newcastle United, Manchester United will represent England in the Champions League next season while Liverpool and Brighton will play in the Europa League.
