Mikel Arteta shares his thoughts on the Premier League title race

Mikel Arteta has sent a message to Arsenal supporters about the Premier League title race following the Gunners' slim defeat to Manchester City, refusing to let the result define the outcome.

Despite the result, the Arsenal manager emphasised that the situation still favours a tightly contested finish, with many twists expected before the season concludes. The loss to City inevitably shifts momentum, but Arteta was quick to reframe the narrative. Rather than viewing the defeat as a decisive blow, he believes this will edge his team further in the competition; he presented it as part of the natural ebb and flow of a high-level title race.

Arsenal, he suggested, remain firmly in contention, provided they respond with consistency and composure in the remaining fixtures.

He said,

“It’s a new league now. There are still games to play, and everything is open. The margins are so small, and we have to make sure we are at our best every single time."

Arteta said after the match, underlining his belief that the race is far from over. Beyond the immediate result, He pointed to fine margins as the difference between the two sides.

He acknowledged that while Arsenal competed well, they lacked the clinical edge required in decisive moments. Arsenal supporters will hope that despite the defeat to Manchester their team will still go on to win the Premier League title for the first time in 22 years.
