Mikel Arteta in his post-match press conference has reacted to Arsenal's 5-0 victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League early kick-off fixture for today, Saturday, January 20, 2024.
Arteta in his post-match press conference was full of nothing but praise for the set-piece team who he believed played a huge role in the huge victory Arsenal has over Crystal Palace in the premier league.
Arsenal who had failed to pick up important points from previous games defeated Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium in London by five goals to nothing. The team's head coach stated, "Credit to all the coaches, to Nico [Jover, set-piece coach] for the amount of time and belief we put in. It’s got a huge impact. We’ve seen that as well in recent games that we’ve lost when we’ve conceded set-pieces, so the outcome is very different when you don’t concede and score. We wanted to start the second part of the season with a great performance, with a great result, and build that positivity and momentum again, and I think the boys did a good job today.”
Mikel Arteta speaks on Emile Smith Rowe's future at Arsenal
Mikel Arteta in his pre-match press conference spoke on Emile Smith Rowe's future at Arsenal amidst interest from clubs such as West Ham in the premier league. Arteta described the midfielder as an important member of the team and someone he is happy to have around in the squad.
He said, “I’m really happy with Emile. He’s in the right trajectory. Now, he’s settled, he’s training really well and you know I’m not going to talk about individual situations. Emile is Emile. We know he’s got incredible qualities and we’re really happy to have him. What he needs now is chances to put all the desire and quality that he has on the pitch. In order to do that we have to give him minutes.”
