Mike Dean Set to Quit Officiating at the End of the Season

One of the best referees in the Premier League, Mike Dean is set to quit the business of officiating at the end of the 2021/22 football season.

The 53-year-old who started officiating in the Premier League since the Year 2000 is looking to take up the role of VAR full time. Dean is known among football fans for his controversial calls in some of the games he officials.

The Telegraph confirmed the news on it's website on Monday, March 21st, 2022. According to reports from the news, he is already in talks with the Professional Game Match Officials (PGMOL). However, the body have refused to speak on the current situation.

Dean has officiated the highest number of league games ( 553), he also officiated two FA Cup Finals and also have issued the highest number of Red Cards in the Premier League (114).
