Odegaard was named captain of the team leading into the first game of the new football season. According to reports from the Daily Mail, Arteta named Granit Xhaka and his latest signing from Manchester City, Gabriel Jesus.
The appointment of Xhaka might raise some eyebrows among the Arsenal supporters who witnessed the Swiss player get stripped off the armband by Unai Emery.
However, the choice of Xhaka and Jesus seems to be a good decision by Arteta following the leadership skills of the duo off and on the pitch since the start of the season. The Brazilian opened his goal scoring campaign with a brace against Leicester City and an assist for Xhaka.
