Football star Mesut Ozil has reacted to the consistent antics of the media on the Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo.
It has been nothing but speculation and rumours about the current situation of Cristiano Ronaldo in the Portugal squad at the world cup 2022 in Qatar, Mesut Ozil joined the list of people speaking out against the current media charade.
The former Arsenal international, who had also been on the receiving end of this media charade, explained that he was confused as to why there was so much controversy and misinformation surrounding Ronaldo and Portugal.
Ozil shared his opinion on social media in a series of posts. He shared:
I really don't get where this constant negativity from the press about Cristiano comes from ... The Media is just trying to get clicks, and pundits who don't have a career anymore just want to get attention with his big name and try to make him look bad.

He is soon 38 years old - so what's the surprise that he doesn't score 50 goals a season anymore? Every football fan out there should be happy to have seen him playing world class football for 20 years.

Everyone should show more respect to one of the greatest athletes in sports history.
