The manager of Chelsea Football Club, Mauricio Pochettino has reacted to the injury crisis that is currently plaguing his team since the start of this season.
He was asked about the injury crisis at the club while speaking in a pre-match press conference ahead of the home game against Newcastle United on Monday, March 11, 2024. According to the Argentine, the situation is frustrating because he has never had the opportunity to work with a full squad since he arrived at the club during the 2022 summer transfer window.
"In the end, we manage circumstances. We never have the full squad, to fight for places between each other. It's frustrating. The situation never allows us to work with the full squad. It's very bad luck. We are suffering this type of [injury] negativity in terms of injury, but we need to accept that. We need to keep working."
Chelsea currently have ten players on its injury with Ben Chilwell, Levi Colwill and Conor Gallagher being the latest players to join the injury list.
