The manager of Chelsea Football Club, Mauricio Pochettino has given an update on the fitness of Cole Palmer ahead of the crucial London Derby against Arsenal.
The England international seemed to have struggled with his fitness during the FA Cup semi-final clash against Manchester City on Saturday, April 20, 2024. According to Pochettino, Cole Palmer does not seem ready for the game as at the time of the press conference but he will be assessed on the day of the match.
"We see tomorrow morning. Today, I don't believe he can be involved. Even if he will be good tomorrow, he may not be in a condition to play. With and without, we believe we can win. The most important is the team and collective. Of course, he's an important part of the team. He's doing fantastic. That's Chelsea, plenty of players who can perform and do the job."
He also spoke about the fitness of Malo Gusto, who also picked up a knock in the game against Manchester City.
"Malo suffered a minor problem in the ligament on his knee. I am not a doctor. I try to translate. I hope it's not a big issue."
