The manager of Chelsea Football Club, Mauricio Pochettino has shed light on the future of Romelu Lukaku ahead of the 2023/24 season.
The Argentine was speaking with the media for the first time since he was announced manager of the Stamford Bridge. According to Pochettino, Romelu Lukaku is expected to join the team for the pre-season later this month.
He has to come back July 12/13 to be part of the squad to start pre-season. With all the players that arrive, first thing that they're doing is to come to my office and say hello. That's what I expect if he's still a Chelsea player.
Lukaku’s time at Chelsea had not been one free of drama and controversies as the strike had gone on a poor run of form that led to raised eyebrows as to if he had been worthy of the price tag. He had also granted an interview to the media that had questioned the coaching style of Thomas Tuchel.
There are also reports that Chelsea are not ready to agree on a loan deal for the Belgian, they will allow Lukaku to leave on a permanent deal.
