The supporters of Manchester United have received heartbreaking news as it concerns the injury situation of Marcus Rashford.
The club released an official statement on its website on Wednesday, April 12th, 2023 concerning the current state of the player going into the remaining games of the season. It was confirmed that the forward player will miss the first leg of the Europa League Quater-final game against Sevilla.
Rashford was substituted in the 80th minute of the game against Everton on Saturday, April 8th, 2023 which was played at Old Trafford. The Red Devils won the game 2-0 to boost their chances of finishing in the top four positions at the end of the season.
Erik Ten Hag expressed his dissatisfaction with the fixture congestion that his players had to go through in the past week. United played three games in the space of eight days ( Newcastle United, Brentford, and Everton). However, he believes that his team will get good results despite the absence of Rashford.
There is good news for United supporters following the return of Christian Eriksen after returning from a lengthy injury lay-off with a substitute appearance against Everton. Casemiro is also expected back into the squad for Thursday’s clash with Sevilla after the Brazilian midfielder missed the past three Premier League games, plus the Emirates FA Cup tie with Fulham, due to suspension.
