Manchester United Football Club have confirmed the exit of one of the its defenders to Turkish side, Besiktas.
The Red Devils announced that Ivorian international, Eric Bailly has left Old Trafford on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. The 29-year-old Ivory Coast defender made 113 appearances for Manchester United after joining from La Liga side Villarreal in 2016.
Bailly was the first signing of former United manager Jose Mourinho and won the Community Shield on his debut for the club. He failed to live up to the expectations at the club which was due to the injuries he suffered at the club.
He is the second Manchester United player to join a Turkish Super Lig club this summer after Fred’s transfer to Fenerbahce last month (August 2023), while goalkeeper Altay Bayindir moved in the other direction when he joined United from Fenerbahce last week.
