Manchester City who are, typically one of the most active and ambitious clubs in the transfer market, took a more subdued approach during the 2024/25 summer transfer window signing just two players.
The Premier League Champions opted rivals for a more measured approach by signing only a few players. The club's hierarchy, led by Pep Guardiola and Txiki Begiristain, chose to focus on fine-tuning their existing squad rather than making wholesale changes by signing new players.

The Citizens signed just two players this summer who are Brazilian winger Savinho joined from Troyes on a five-year deal after helping Girona to qualify for the Champions League in a loan spell last season.
Ilkay Gundogan also returned to Manchester City after Barcelona signed Dani Olmo, the German became surplus to requirements at the Catalonia giants. The German joined the La Liga side on a permanent move after winning a treble ( Premier League, UEFA Champions League and the English FA Cup) with Manchester City during the 2023/24 football season.
However, only time will tell if this relatively quiet transfer window will pay dividends for the Citizens. Will their understated approach be successful or will they be left playing catch-up with their more proactive rivals?
