Fresh reports have indicated that Man United have made their final or key decision on the future of Marcus Rashford ahead of the 26/27 season.
Manchester United are preparing to welcome Marcus Rashford back into the first-team setup in a key decision on his future for the 2026/27 campaign after positive discussions over his future, according to fresh reports.
The England international spent the previous season on loan at Barcelona, but the Spanish champions have decided not to trigger the €30 million purchase option included in the agreement. Although Barcelona remain interested in keeping Rashford, they are reportedly hoping to negotiate another temporary deal rather than a permanent transfer.
United, however, are understood to favour a permanent sale if the forward is to leave Old Trafford this summer.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, relations between Rashford and the club appear to have improved. Recent talks involving the player's representatives and Manchester United officials are said to have been constructive, paving the way for his return to pre-season training under manager Michael Carrick.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Rashford has indicated he is willing to remain at Manchester United if a suitable transfer does not materialise. The forward is no longer ruling out the possibility of fighting for his place in Carrick's squad ahead of the new season.
The club is still open to listening to offers, but only if they meet its valuation and satisfy all parties involved. If no acceptable bid arrives before the transfer window closes, Rashford is expected to remain at Old Trafford and compete for a place in the team.
His potential return would hand Carrick another experienced attacking option while giving United greater flexibility as they continue their squad rebuild.
With several weeks still remaining in the transfer window, Rashford's long-term future is yet to be settled. For now, though, Manchester United's immediate plan is to reintegrate the academy graduate into the squad as preparations for the new season get underway.
