Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni has addressed growing speculation over his future following his side's 1-0 defeat to Spain in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.

Scaloni also paid tribute to captain Lionel Messi, who enjoyed another memorable World Cup campaign despite Argentina's defeat in the final. The coach hailed the veteran forward as the greatest footballer in history and praised his leadership throughout the tournament.
Since taking charge of Argentina in 2018, Scaloni has overseen one of the most successful periods in the nation's football history. He guided La Albiceleste to Copa América glory in 2021 and 2024, won the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, and led the team to another World Cup final in 2026.
