Former PSG and Barcelona player, Lionel Messi has continued to set records after records in world football.
The Argentine became the most decorated player in the world having led Inter Miami to their first major trophy. He has won 44 trophies which made him the most successful soccer player of all time, surpassing the record which was held by Dani Alves (43).
Messi scored an amazing goal in the 23rd minute having latched on to a loose ball which got past Walker Zimmerman in goal. Nashville came back into the game in the second half after Fafa Picault scored a brilliant goal which was pinged over Miami goalkeeper Drake Callender.
The shootout featured all 11 players on each side getting an opportunity to make their penalty kicks and ended with both goalkeepers going last. Callender's rocketed his effort into the top of the frame. Nashville's Elliot Panicco saw his effort saved by Callender, which saw Inter-Miami merge as Leagues Cup royalty.
They also have a chance of winning the U.S. Open Cup having reached the semifinals and the League Cup following their impressive performance. Messi won 35 trophies with Barcelona, five with Argentina, three with Paris Saint Germain and one with Inter Miami.
