Liam Rosenior reacts to the defeat against Arsenal

Chelsea’s head coach Liam Rosenior played led his team at the dugout for the first time at Stamford Bridge since he was appointed against Arsenal.

Rosenior was speaking in his post-match press conference after the first leg of the Carabao Cup game against Arsenal. He confirmed that he was not happy with the result but it was a positive step in the right direction.

“I am encouraged from what I saw against Arsenal. I am not happy to lose but it's a building block and I can see where the players need to improve”.

Rosenior praised his players for their effort and organisation, noting that they tried to remain disciplined and competitive despite sustained pressure. He highlighted moments where his team showed resilience and composure, but conceded that small errors and lapses were punished against a side of Arsenal’s calibre.

The manager also spoke about the learning value of the fixture, stressing that matches against top teams provide important benchmarks for development. He emphasized the need to improve decision-making, concentration, and execution in crucial moments if his side is to compete more effectively at this level.
