The end of an era for Real Madrid forward player, Karim Benzema at the Santiago Bernabeu has officially come to an end after 14 years.
Real Madrid confirmed the exit of French International on its official website on Saturday, June 2023. However, Benzema said his final goodbye to the supporters of th club at the Bernabeu on Tuesday, June 6th, 2023.
The 35-year-old expressed his displeasure in leaving the club at this time in his career. According to him, he wanted to retire from his career with Real Madrid but other things came along which made him change his decision.
This is a sad day. I leave my club. I have always said I would have retired here but things not always happen. I will always watch all the games.
Benzema leaves Real Madrid as a legend holding the record as the club's second all-time goalscorer in both the League and the European Cup. He is also the fourth-highest goalscorer in the history of the UEFA Champions League.
