The manager of AS Roma, Jose Mourinho has expressed his disgust following the decision to deduct 10 points from Juventus at this time in the season.

The Portuguese was speaking at a post-match interview with DAZN which was reported by Goal, after the game which ended 2-2 against Salernitana on Monday, May 22nd, 2023. The result left the Europa League finalists on sixth in the Serie A table.

It's a joke to know this with two games remaining. For us and everyone, even for Juventus. Our approach would have been different if we had known before the games with Monza and Bologna. I am sorry for [Massimiliano] Allegri and his players, but at the league level, I have to say that it changes things a little.

Juventus were first handed a 15-point penalty in January, which saw them drop to 10th place. However, the decision was overturned last month and Juve once again found themselves in one of the Champions League spots, which saw them move as high as second on the league table.

The Old Lady got the verdict handed down by the Italian Federal Court of Appeal having their previous punishment reinstated. This decision saw Juventus drop down to 7th in the table which is one place behind Mourinho's Roma.
