AS Roma forward player, Romelu Lukaku has been on the wrong side of Inter Milan club's supporters following the way things went between himself and the club.

The sporting director of Inter Milan, Ausilo told Radio Serie A said confirmed in an interview that the deal collapsed because of Romelu Lukaku's attitude.

"I prefer not to talk about a player currently at another club, I have never done that in recent months. I say that I like to think about the present and the future, Lukaku is part of the past: with him, we won a Scudetto, lost two finals and he brought us an important capital gain. What happened? I prefer not to talk about it. All I'm saying is that there has to be politeness and respect: things were obviously going on, but at a certain point these conditions came to an end. There are deals that do not get done, but if there is respect it is never a problem. When, on the other hand, one hides or sends replies via other people, then one thinks about moving on. For me it is a closed chapter since July 8, there are no regrets."

He also spoke about him trying the reach out to Lukaku.

"The famous phone call to Lukaku? It was something decided, nothing special. I told Romelu what I thought after I hadn't been able to contact him for a while."

Lukaku has not had it easy since he joined Chelsea during the 2021 summer transfer window from Inter Milan. He was a key part of the team that won the Serie A for the first time in 11 years.

The Belgian was close to returning to Inter Milan on a permanent deal from Chelsea but everything broke down when he started talking to Juventus when Inter were close to sealing a deal with the Blues.
